What Kids Can teach you about your Soul's Purpose

Hi, I’m Jessica 👋

As a Soul Purpose Life Coach, Reiki Master, and Astrologer, I’m all about guiding you back to your truth — the version of you that feels lit up, aligned, and deeply fulfilled. Today, I’m sharing –– what my kids taught me about Soul Purpose.

1. Presence is Everything

Kids are in it.

They aren’t replaying last week’s awkward conversation or worrying about who they'll talk to at school drop off. They’re noticing how the grass smells after rain, how sunsets change the cloud colour. They’re unapologetically focused on what they're doing, and fully committed to the snack in front of them.

Their presence reminds me that alignment isn’t something we chase—it’s something we allow. Being present in your life as it is is often the first step toward living on purpose.

2. Joy is a Compass

When my daughter spends an hour carefully painting a rock, she’s not asking, “Is this productive?” She’s just following what feels fun.

If it lights you up, pay attention.

We’re all born knowing how to follow joy. Then we're taught to prioritize achievement, responsibility, and even people-pleasing. We often lose fun in between the beautiful chaos of rushing, packing lunches and remembering all the to-dos of life... But joy is one of the clearest signs of alignment.

3. You’re Allowed to Change

My kids go from ballerinas to pastry chefs to butterfly farmers in the span of a day. There’s no hesitation, or shame, no overthinking.

As adults, we often fear evolving. But alignment doesn't mean staying the same forever—it’s about staying connected to your self, even as that self grows.

Soul purpose can shift, deepen, and unfold over time. You’re allowed to change your mind.

You’re allowed to change your path.

Final Thoughts

Sometimes, in the middle of the noise, our kids become mirrors—reminding us of the wisdom we forgot we had.

Your soul purpose doesn’t have to be a grand mission statement. It can be the quiet pull toward presence, joy, and curiosity.

And if you’re lucky enough to have a small teacher living in your home, listen and watch closely. They just might be guiding you back to yourself.

Will you answer their invitation?
